Giggling Squid Farnham review: Charming alcoves create romantic ...

Review analysis

February 2017 saw Thai restaurant chain Giggling Squid open its twentieth site in Farnham town centre.

Having already tasted the chain's traditional Thai cuisine at its branches in Guildford , Esher and Wokingham , it was now time to see how the new restaurant fared.

Located inside a Grade II listed building in the heart of the market town, the restaurant is certainly the most quaint and charismatic of the Giggling Squid's I have dined at.

As a huge Thai food fan, I often try to imitate classic dishes at home, but the sauces never seem to be as mouthwatering as the ones at Giggling Squid.

As we said goodbye to the friendly waiters, we couldn't help but think that Giggling Squid in Farnham was a treasure trove of authentic, luscious and beautiful Thai culture and cuisine.

We Review: The Giggling Squid Wimbledon

The chicken itself was tender and came as three skewers with the satay sauce in a dipping dish.

I tried it and the chicken was delicious I have no quibbles there, but the dish screamed for a sauce of some kind.

Though I think it would perhaps have done better had the chicken sat atop some wet noodles or egg fried rice.

The pad Thai, though perfectly tasty, was on the large side, too much noodle and not enough bits.

Final word: The Giggling Squid is a lovely restaurant with delicious food, some of the dishes may have needed a little tweaking but, because of those starters I will be returning… but maybe in the summer when it’s warmer as we were sat near the door and the draught was nipple crippling.
