Forks & Green
Forks and Green
Forks and Green was born out of an epiphany.
After growing up in North London and spending their entire lives working among the hustle and bustle of the area, the founders of this culinary cottage knew there was something missing.
Their return to the West Green area led them to the archives in which they found that this parish in particular had undergone several dramatic changes in its thousands of years of existence.
It made perfect poetic sense to bring their lightbulb moment to life here where disruption is in the DNA and the drama of the city is just a stone’s throw away.
Forks and Green was born and the concept was clear – let’s keep it simple and saliva-inducingly delicious!

Restaurant review: Alfie's Kitchen in Forks Township - The Morning ...
facilities menu food ambience
Alfie’s Kitchen in Forks Township is part of a restaurant renaissance, joining Sam’s Bagels & Deli and Red White & Que Smokehouse at the Park Plaza shopping center.
Tucked comfortably in a corner spot in the shopping center, Alfie’s has a breakfast menu with a diner vibe but throws in some interesting takes on classic dishes, as well as an interesting lunch menu.
Alfie’s has the usual omelet, egg, pancake and French toast options, but gets into interesting territory with creations such as banana and walnut-stuffed French toast, PB&J French toast and peaches and cream pancakes.
A morning take on the classic school lunch, it consisted of three large pieces of Texas toast doused in thick globs of peanut butter and a healthy drizzle of grape jelly.
Bottom line: Alfie’s is a great breakfast or lunch stop, even if for a takeout meal.
Restaurant review: Red, White & Que Smokehouse in Forks Township
food facilities menu ambience value
You’d be excused for thinking Red White & Que Smokehouse isn’t a chain restaurant, because it doesn’t have the usual trappings of one.
Setting and decor: From the name down to the signage and decor throughout the restaurant, Red White & Que is patriotic to its core.
To the rescue were the sauces: Sweet Sweaty Que, a moderately spicy sauce cut with a smooth white sugar note; Alabama White, a mayo/vinegar concoction; pepper espresso; pepper vinegar; mustard vinegar, and Devil Dog’s Spit, a thick, piquant sauce, spicy enough to make you sweat a bit.
Like the rest of Red White and Que’s smoked meats, the ribs are smoked fresh daily in a hickory wood pit.
Bottom line: Red White & Que Smokehouse delivers a quality barbecue experience across the board, and does so in a casual atmosphere that is welcoming and doesn’t exude a chain restaurant feel.

Restaurant review: Two Left Forks in Dana Point bets on nostalgia ...
food staff
One of the latest newcomers is Two Left Forks, which took over the not-so-old Tavern on the Coast, which failed after only a couple of years after losing its original chef.
The newly rechristened space is being run by the family who owns the historic Hotel Laguna and its Ocean View Bar Grill (formerly known as Claes).
The chef is Robert Hines, who formerly ran the kitchens at Hotel Laguna after stints at Catal and Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel.
The menu reads like that of an old hotel dining room, with a little something for everyone: French onion soup, Caesar salad, petite fillet mignon and mashed potatoes piped out of a pastry bag.
Although there’s nothing particularly original here, the chef clearly has skills when it comes to reinterpreting other chefs’ previously popular ideas.
