Ahi Poke offers a good – if London-ised – version of poke in a short but tasty menu with an assembly line approach to fresh preparation.

For my recent lunch at Ahi Poke, I had regular size (but plenty ample) bowl with a rice base, a scoop of ahi tuna (mixed with scallions and black sesame), spicy mayo, edamame, coriander, red onion, and carrot, with an extra sprinkling of sesame and sliced avocado (£1 extra).

A had a taste of another topping, chilli grapefruit, on the side to see how it went with tuna.

I’d have loved some nori with my lunch as well.

Ahi Poke is located at 3 Percy Street, W1T 1DF.

NAC London Restaurant Review

food   menu   desserts   ambience

Having been on the cuisine scene for quite some time, NAC, also known as North Audley Canteen, has become an institute for London's lunch crowd, offering fantastically fresh and innovative food all afternoon (and night) long.

Founded by childhood friends David Bellaiche, Gabriel Cohen-Elia and Jeremy Coste, NAC is light, bright and breezy, offering chilled-out bistro French fare, perfect for sharing with friends, plus a selection of perfect patisseries and desserts.

NAC’s innovative approach to dining is reflected in the simply yet spectacular menu with its creative take on traditional dishes.

The fresh tuna from the poke bowl combined with the sharp dressing and fluffy quinoa provided a great combo, whilst the burger was perfectly cooked, dressed perfectly with cheese and truffle mayo.

The dessert menu was the icing on the cake, featuring a tarte du jour prepared by NAC’s very own pastry chef, as well as irresistible dishes like Churros with popping sugar, dulce ice cream and chocolate sauce and Profitéroles with salted caramel & ice cream.

Island Poke Review: What We Thought

Review analysis
food   menu   drinks

Island Poké (pronounce po-kay) has been a name on the street food circuit for a couple of years but has opened a permanent site just in time for the colder months, when being outside is slightly less appealing.

On the Menu: A simple menu of Hawaiian poké and healthy breakfast bowls, the focus here is on clean, fresh, nutritious food that also happens to taste great.

Depending on the time of your visit the counter will be decked out with ingredients to make your own breakfast bowl by choosing from a base of açaí or coconut yogurt then toppings, or if you visit later on you build your poké bowl from a base of rice, handful of tuna or salmon and colourful, exotic toppings.

The result is a rich, smooth blend that shows Island Poké pay attention to everything on the menu – it’s not all about the fish.

Final Word: Island Poke is a great addition to Soho offering a concise, refined menu to solve breakfast and lunch dilemmas, proving that the street food scene really is the place to start out.

With its cool blue interior, walls adorned with surfboards and dishes named ‘Heatwave’ and ‘Venice,’ Ahi Poké is about as close as you’ll get to a dip in the Pacific on your lunchbreak.

An eager team of staff make poké (Hawaiian bowls of sashimi fish with rice and veg, in case the trend has passed you by) to order from an open bar filled with fresh, vibrant ingredients.

You can choose straight off the menu or walk on the wild side with a build-your-own combination on a base of rice, quinoa or kale (or all three mixed together).

It may not weather the winter months but Ahi Poké gets refreshing summer food spot on.
