Brought to London by the team behind India's booming Grub Fest, Lokhandwala is tucked in amongst this jumble of spaces, throwing about traditional spices, flavours and combinations from all over the country into a tapas menu that I was geared up to try.

Flitting between provinces and ancient Indian ingredients, Lokhandwala is an assortment of flavours that promises a regional medley rather than a simple tapas menu, which is something we loved from the off.

Between us we settled on the Vepudu Taco with Radish and Cauliflower at £6, the Mish Mash Bun at £7 (a Mumbai street food) and the Indian Cottage Cheese & Tomato Cashew Sauce Pie at £11 from the Punjab Province in North India, while I sneaked in a little fish in the shape of the Masaledar Fish & Chips (£14) of masala marinated sea bass fish, batter fried and salli wafers.

For those that also don't think 4 dishes would be enough over tapas, they seemingly are at Lokhandwala down to the size of the Masaledar fish and chips alone.

Bringing together flavours from any and all Indian regions that they care or love to, Lokhandwala are clearly ceaseless when it comes to presentation, substance and giving diners a true homage to the taste of India in tapas form.

This became apparent as our eyes skimmed down the menu, spotting dishes such as Masaledar Fish and Chips, Yorkshire Pudding Lokhandwala Style and Blue Stilton Naan with Truffle Oil.

We ordered The Star of India, made from herb-infused Bombay Sapphire, mango, orange, turmeric and lemon which resulted in a fruity, warm and spicy cocktail that wasn’t too sweet.

We also tried The Viceroy, another gin-driven cocktail, made with apricot sweet and bitters, star anise syrup, fresh lemon and egg white – an interesting blend of flavours with a bitter aftertaste.

Slightly sweetened by the coconut while giving off that unmistakable curry flavour, it was a pleasant course and veered towards a more traditional style.

The sides were extremely tempting and the Blue Stilton Naan with Truffle Oil immediately caught my eye.

food

This did mean that it was a bit louder than I would prefer.

I got myself some keema naan and a lamb and lentil dish for my main course.

The keema naan was lovely, crispy on the outside and full of flavoursome mince meat on the inside.

The lamb dish was okay but it was a bit stodgy.
