The French Cafe
The team behind The French Cafe in Ritherdon Road – now closed – have launched a fantastic new venue at 216 Trinity Rd, Wandsworth SW17 7HP, near Wandsworth Common.
The French Kitchen is open Tuesday to Saturday dinner from 5.30 – 10.
Lunch Thursday – Sunday 12 – 3 and breakfast 10-1 Saturday and Sunday.

There is deli produce for sale here, but the emphasis is more on the restaurant and less on the shop compared to the Marylebone branch.
The short French wine list (I know this is aiming to be a bistro but entirely French wines, really?
A French onion soup was simple but properly made and seasoned (12/20), while I began with leek and gruyere tart and a side salad.
The tart was slightly singed on the edge, but otherwise was fine, the pastry pleasant, the gruyere flavour coming through without overwhelming things (13/20).
Apricot and almond tart also had good flavour, though the reheating had rendered the pastry a bit soggy (still 13/20).

The French Kitchen on Wandsworth Common is an exciting new venture from David Healey, the former owner of The French Cafe.
Located on Trinity Road in South London, this French restaurant will be doing everything from breakfasts and lunches to Sunday dinners and evening meals.
For anyone who needs a huge breakfast on the weekends, you can enjoy decadent dishes like steak frites and oeufs Francais with poached free range eggs, bacon lardons, diced sausages, Lincolnshire new potatoes, fresh herbs and onions topped with hollandaise sauce served on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am.
With both a prix fixe and an extensive a la carte menu for dinners Tuesday through to Saturday, you’re sure to be spoilt for choice and value at The French Kitchen.
