Restuarant Find: BAO London - Melting Butter : Melting Butter

Review analysis
food   menu

Especially if you’re queuing for BAO London.

Then there is what’s between the Bao – a great balancing act of flavours that leaves you wanting so much more (seriously, how many Bao per person is socially acceptable?)

The team perfected their classics at Netil Market but it was at their Soho location where their Xiao Chi experiments reached the menu.

The answer, according to BAO London is to be economical with the flavours, tapping only the crucial notes that come together as a whole.

There will be couple of new additions to Bao and Xiao Chi menus including crispy bird’s feet with hot sauce and a brand new sharing menu from charcoal grill (personally looking forward to quail stuffed with pig’s blood).

Homegirl London’s Food Review: Jikoni Restaurant.

If you’re looking for weekend brunch in W1, restaurants in Marylebone or places to eat near The Wallace Collection then you must book a table at the Jikoni Restaurant.

“A joyful place to hang out with friends and tuck into comfort food created with love using a fusion of flavors from Britain, East Africa, Middle East and Asia,” Homegirl London We ate brunch there a few weeks ago.

The mains included veggie options like cornbread made from spicy creamed corn, topped with a fried egg and jalapeno relish to spice it up.

To give you an of price points brunch mains were £12.50-26.

Royal China | Restaurants in Marylebone, London

Review analysis
food

Set just a dumpling’s throw away from the swanky Royal China Club, you might expect this slightly shabbier sister restaurant to have a bit of an inferiority complex.

With space for 200 diners, this is the Royal China Group’s flagship branch – and it’s got the gold panelling and linen-topped banqueting tables to prove it.

Dim sum’s the speciality here, and very good it is too.

Whether fried or steamed, everything’s made fresh when you order here and it really shows – the scallop dumplings that followed were perfectly cooked and delicately flavoured, with a silky translucent casing.

Stick to the dim sum though, and Royal China is a lovely spot to have a long, leisurely and semi-luxurious lunch.
