Cats Cafe Des Artistes

Cats Cafe Des Artistes in Finsbury is a family based company and opened our Thai restaurant in June 1995, after spending the better part of 18 months renovating both the front and back.

We strive to offer the very best authentic Thai food we can, so that we can live up to our motto of The best Thai food west of Bangkok.

Fresh food is the key and each dish is cooked to order, so take the time to taste Thai food at its best.

Review analysis

On the first day I moved in its area, it was the first restaurant I tried, and it is still now my favourite: CATS Caf des Artistes.Apart from its interesting name, it is a classic tha restaurant, with a large variety of plates.

My favourite is the Pineapple Rice: jasmine rice steamed in pineapple with king prawns, egg, ham, peas and spring onions served in a fresh pineapple.

They also have starters, curries, tofu, fish and seafood dishes, noodle dishes and desserts.Their cheapest meal is 1.70 jasmine steamed rice and their most expensive is the Sizzling Beef Platter (Slices of topside of beef marinated in a red wine and chilli sauce, cooked in sesame oil with pineapple, baby corns, peppers and served sizzling hot).

I would even say I tried a 1 Michelin star fried rice from the Shangri-La Hotel and it tasted exactly as the one CATS Caf des Artistes have.

Hopefully one day, they'll be added to Deliveroo or UberEATS, as not everyone lives near Finsbury Park. The most different aspect of this restaurant is its decoration.
