There’s plenty of competition but new trattoria on the block Addomme is certainly giving the likes of Franco Manca a run for their money.

Obviously I was delighted when a new pizza place opened up in the neighbourhood and I was hoping it was going to be a goody, I wasn’t disappointed.

Family run by native Italians, Capri to be precise, you can guarantee a warm welcome at Addomme and this service with a smile continued throughout the meal.

Now I know I have focused on the pizza here, and they are amazing, but Addomme also serves a wider menu with changing daily specials including meats, fish and pastas.

I went for a mixed started of the later with risotto balls and crispy aubergine strips, all were delicious and it was nice to see something different on an Italian menu.

L’Antica Pizzeria, 66 Heath Street, NW3 1DN More Neopolitan at this south London restaurant where the quality of ingredients means the pizzas are excellent.

We particularly like the Diego’s pizza loaded with tomato, mozzarella, salami, buffalo ricotta and basil, but the restaurants can pull off meatballs, Gorgonzola and sausage with just as much gusto.

The characteristically soft dough of pizzas from this region set them apart from most, while exactingly-sourced Italian ingredients ensure the toppings also shine: try the ‘Nduja, which comes with a real kick.

The simply named Saporitalia pizza combines luscious puddles of the cheese with fresh basil, tangy extra virgin olive oil and just a little tomato sauce, and we’re not sure it could easily be bettered.

Thankfully our city also offers gluttonous amounts of very good pizza indeed, from crisp and chewy crusts to superlative sourdough bases and tip-top toppings.

London’s best pizza: the full list Addommè, Streatham The sourdough pizzas at this teeny restaurant next to Streatham Hill station boast gloriously squidgy, salty bases and fresh full-flavoured toppings.

The N16 branch is less scruffy (and a little more expensive) than the Naples original, and the pizzas are slightly different, too – the bases are thicker for a start.

A recent facelift of this west London pizzeria featured a new Carrara marble counter and a new pizza oven hand-built by a Neapolitan craftsman with biscotto di Sorrento clay bricks.

But one thing did not change at Santa Maria: you can still see the reflection of the divine in the Margherita’s shimmering pools of milky, oozy, salty mozzarella floating over its surface.

This pizza, like its demanding co-owners Pasquale Chionchio and Angelo Ambrosio, is Neapolitan to the core, its soft, delicate yet resilient crust holding up to pressure from the beautiful San Marzano DOP tomato sauce as well as from your eager fingers.

Small and somewhat out of the way in south Ealing, this team take their pizza very seriously indeed with spectacular results; it is certainly worth the pilgrimage.

- Julian Rea “I always benchmark pizza against the best in Naples and Rome and find this establishment has the best package in the UK in terms of oven, dough, top-quality mozzarella (very rare in the UK) and San Marzano tomatoes—all the essentials for a well-executed Margherita.”

Addomme Pizzeria & Trattoria | Restaurants in Streatham Hill, London

The weekly main menu at this popular Streatham Hill pizzeria changes weekly - a sure sign of somewhere enthusiastic about what it's doing.

Elsewhere on the menu, sourdough pizzas play an important role, cooked in an authentic wood-fired oven easily visible through the hatch into the kitchen.
