Banh Mi is a Vietnamese sandwich; product of French colonialism of Vietnam, combining ingredients from the French with native Vietnamese.

A thin crusted French baguette is spread with mayonnaise, pâté and chilli paste, filled with terrine, various types of meat or tofu if vegetarian, which is then topped with cucumber, coriander, spring onion, fresh chillies and lightly pickled carrots and radish.
