Having enjoyed brunch so much at Andi’s Restaurant a couple of weeks ago, we decided it was time to return and try out the dinner menu.

The kitchen is run by Andi Oliver, the new chef on the Great British Menu TV programme and she promises to deliver ‘a little bit of love in your tummy!’

Instead I asked for a side of the spring greens and the delicious sounding turmeric roasted cauliflower.

Served with baby gem lettuce I would have been satisfied with the dish as it was, but the boys got the roasted sweet potatoes along with it to amp up the carb count!

The menu at Andi’s Restaurant changes every few weeks so I’ll have to try out some of the new dishes next time and report back!

Three of us went for Brunch at Andi’s Restaurant in its opening week for Dan’s birthday treat!

Andi’s Restaurant philosophy is ‘A little love in your tummy’ meaning well cooked, comfort food with fabulous ingredients that makes you feel good!

The bowl comes with pulses, greens, roast vegetables and avocado mash as standard and then he chose the freekeh, the grilled lamb cutlets and the whipped feta herb yoghurt to top it with.

Lovely gooey yolks and fresh herbs combined with the salty bacon and the tangy goats cheese made for one delicious brunch.

The staff at Andi’s Restaurant were so kind, they even bought Dan out a free birthday Creme Brulee Tart.

andi oliver to open restaurant in stokey - London On The Inside

Fox and Pie is dead and chef, musician, queen of supper club pop-ups, pub landlady and TV personality, Andi Oliver is opening her first restaurant on their old site in Stokey.

Andi’s menu will focus on brunch and include a French Toast Bacon Sarnie, a VEGAN & meat Reuben and baked eggs, and for those after something healthier they will also serve up energy bowls.

In a nutshell: All day dining from the New Great British Menu judge Summing it all up: Brunch spot by day and brasserie by night, Andi’s will offer the full spectrum of wholesome, on trend ingredients, including avocado mash in your energy bowl, making it a perfect fit for Stoke Newington’s Church St. Andi Oliver, the chef and new Great British Menu judge, will open her first restaurant in Stoke Newington this spring.

With baked Burford Brown eggs, french toast with maple syrup and toasties promised, it’ll be a brunch and lunch heavy affair well suited to the area, where delis and coffee shops seem to grow wild, particularly on Church Street, where this will be.

There’ll also be something Andi’s is calling an ‘energy bowl’.

Despite the name, it sounds like a nicely healthy alternative to traditional brunch fare, with braised pulses, roast veggies, salad and tahini, with an avocado mash topping.

Heading up this pretty little restaurant in Stoke Newington is the chef and broadcaster Andi Oliver, of ‘Great British Menu’ judging fame.

Best of the bunch was a steak tartare served with deliciously bitter, dark ‘marmite soldiers’ and topped with raw egg.

It’s the kind of food that makes you long for steamed green vegetables.

Things were remedied a little by dessert, a dark chocolate olive oil cake, which I ate in Andi’s lovely fairy-lit garden.

This little green bolthole alone would make a trip worthwhile.
