Nestled into what was once a luggage shop on Market Row, Seven at Brixton is a cocktail and pintxos bar that is leading the way for the arcade of eateries, pop-ups and cafes in Brixton Village.

Seven at Brixton is serving up cocktails and pintxos in the heart of Brixton Market.

Try a gin and blackberry influenced Brambles or the locals favourite, Electric Avenue served in a sherbet lined martini glass that holds a delightful concoction of marmalade, apple vodka and pomegranate juice.

Seven at Brixton is the perfect night out for fine pintxos and inventive cocktails.

A million miles away from the dark, noisy, generic cocktail bars of central London, this Brixton bar is a quirky, inspiring and relaxing hang out spot to eat, drink and chat as the Spanish do.

The unique and cool venue serves as a coffee house cum tapas bar cum cocktail haven and with a selection of board games on offer it is also an excellent place to while away the hours.

Located in Market Row, Seven bar and restaurant is in the heart of Brixton and is surrounded by vibrancy and life.

The small bar is spread across two floors.

The mixture of cocktails offer a twist on traditional recipes and Seven’s back bar hosts a growing array of Spanish spirits.

There are Spanish wines, Sherries and a selection of Spanish beers, including the much loved Alhambra Negra and Reserva.

Seven’s Facebook page describes it as a ‘new food, drink and art concept’: don’t worry, though, it’s really just a vaguely Spanish-style bar in one of Brixton’s covered markets, and a rather nice one too.

It joins the likes of Franco Manca and Rosie’s in Market Row as one of the new independent ventures that have set up among the Caribbean veg shops and hair salons in the area.

Opposite the intriguing-sounding Original Products Ltd (‘candles, cushions, statues’), a basic unit has been fitted with mismatched furniture and a bar; a tangle of flexes above supply the bare-filament bulbs.

Like most of the premises in these Brixton Markets, it has a big open front and not much heating – best wrap up.

It’s open in the day, too, for brunch, lunch and coffee, serving items such as churros and hot sandwiches.
