This is the best Lebanese restaurant in London.

I only eat there because I was looking for a meal with rice while at work and was bored of the indian or Chinese choices in the area. When i complemented the owner on the food he gave me some of the starters to try for free.

Worth the trip out to the middle of nowhere if you really like Lebanese food.

Brawn Review | Bon Appetit

Near the end of the Columbia Road Flower Market—which draws throngs on weekends with its succulents and seasonal blooms—Brawn’s led many lives.

Its high ceilings and double-height windows owe to its beginnings as a 19th-century workshop; it became a white-hot wine bar in 2010; and it’s now a restaurant helmed by chef Ed Wilson, who still serves carefully chosen organic and biodynamic wines.

ORDER THE: the veal ragù if it’s an option, and any dish featuring one of Wilson’s favorite ingredients: potent Cantabrian anchovies.

The massive windows keep it from feeling claustrophobic.

PRACTICAL STUFF: They leave a few tables for walk-ins every night, but reservations are all but required on weekends (book a couple of days in advance).

GO HERE : for natural wine in an old Cash2Carry shop in Clapton.

Owner Liam Kellerher goal is for it to feel like a friend’s flat: You eat from a five to nine-item menu written by chef Giuseppe Lacorazza, and have a glass of whichever organic, natural, or biodynamic wine is open.

You won’t spend more than £25 a head on food, with glasses starting at £5, but it’s hard not to leave without buying a couple of bottles of wine to take home.

THE VIBE IS : more like a pub than a wine bar, with Clapton hipsters filling each of the 15 seats around the communal table and sometimes the sidewalk outside.

The wine shop and bar is open every day but Monday, from late afternoon to 10 or 11 p.m.

GO HERE: for the Sunday lunch of a lifetime.

Ruth Rogers’s legendary Italian “canteen” in the hard-to-get-to Thames Wharf may be pushing 30, but it feels as vital as ever.

The tables are filled with a who’s who of London’s most interesting people, who come regularly not only for the flawlessly simple, seasonal Italian food, but also for the impeccable service.

If visiting in summer, ask for a table outside.

Having a boozy lunch here on your way to Heathrow (you’re practically halfway there!)
