Not really a cabaret more like makeshift low-quality restaurant tables surrounding a stage and a central area in which a mix of (some excellent, some cold, impersonal) dancing, impressive strength/balance acrobatics and poor (male)/excellent (female) singing occurs.

Ignored by a male supervising waiter who prevented the other waiters serving us and who just disappeared completely preventing us getting a meal till I stood up and complained to a senior manager (and even then it took a further half an hour to place the order).

Eventually we collected our coats and went to the main bar (in a makeshift 'disco' area just outside the large impersonal, high ceilinged hall in which the 'cabaret' had been held) and asked for a manager.

When I mentioned this to the manager she said that we could pay at the end (and just as well because my bill was wrong).

When I saw other tables being returned their credit cards and bills at the end of the evening it was chaos - the waiters spent ages working out which card was for which table and I saw two mix-ups in the tables directly in front of me.

London Cabaret Club Review - What We Thought

To mark the release of Spectre and the fact that they have acquired a new home, The London Cabaret Club has been hosting a series of James Bond inspired evenings, London Never Dies, at the Bloomsbury Ballroom which will soon be their fixed address.

The evening starts in the Rose Lounge with Bond themed cocktails – go for the Reverse Vesper Martini 1) it would be wrong not to at a James Bond event and 2) it’s just the ticket to take the edge off the week, aka it’s strong.

We were however there for the show and it wasn’t just one or two acts, nope there were performances throughout the evening right from 8pm up until 11pm.

In between each act was a DJ, who played hit after hit, it was a case of everyone getting up to dance in between each act before sitting back down to watch the next performance, so that as soon as the show was over the floor was packed again with people dancing.

Would James Bond applaud this evening?
