All of these extra little touches really make Brgr Co stand out from other high street burger bars, and I haven’t even started talking about the food yet!

If you try the chicken strips and love them (which you will), then I’d recommend getting the Chicken Burger, as the chicken is just as amazing!

However, it would be terrible of me to not give as much appreciation to the Bacon Blue Brgr as I have done with the chicken here because this burger was probably one of the best I’ve ever had.

The chips were fab, not as crunchy as their name would have you think, but still a great chip!

We decided to go all out and try some cocktails and a dessert to really see how fab this menu was.

I visited the Holborn branch of Haché this week to try out their limited edition vegan burger and was pleasantly surprised by my experience.

Located just a couple of minutes walk from Holborn Station, Haché serves up fresh and tasty burgers in many different variations.

For the main event I went for the limited edition vegan burger The Secret Garden: portabello mushroom coated in panic breadcrumbs with a hit of sesame seeds, served with a spicy peanut sauce and crispy kale, topped with a fan of avocado on a toasted ciabatta bun.

I really enjoyed Haché, the staff were lovely, the restaurant was beautiful and the food was great!

I’ll certainly be back if they make the vegan burger permanent!

Holborn Dining Rooms: The Rosewood Hotel - East London Girl

food

The Rosewood Hotel is situated about a 2/3 minute walk from Holborn tube and really is a rather exquisite building (an Edwardian Mansion) and is entered via a courtyard.

We dined in the Holborn Dining Rooms within the Rosewood Hotel, which is elegant and beautiful with chandelier-decked space.

I have visited the venue twice.

My main was lamb with a side of spinach and truffle and parmesan fries. The lamb was flavoursome but slightly fatty, which was a shame.

Shame there was no room in the courtyard though!

Brilliant traditional Spanish restaurant with tasty tapas and flamenco shows based in Barbican on Whitecross Street.

We opted for seven tapas between two of us, which was more than enough.

Pictured below is the (1) chorizo with cider sauce (2) marinated pork skewers (3) sweet potato fries (4) potato tortilla (5) paella croquetas (6) patatas bravas and (7) tetilla cheese with caramelised onion and toasted bread.

We particularly enjoyed the chorizo and the paella croquetas (different from usual tapas menus).

Don’t miss the flamenco shows held downstairs – next one this Friday.

Beautiful gastro pub with high ceilings and a industrial shabby chic type feel with retro furniture and a wonderful zinc topped bar in the centre.

The venue has a ground floor pub, first floor dining room and a roof terrace and roof garden, where they grow fresh herbs!

Pub wise there is a decent selection of craft beer and cocktails and the bartenders were really friendly and happy to have a chat when it wasn’t too busy.

Pretty much guarantees fresh food!

We did have some snacks on the roof terrace though which were good – the custard tart was the best!

Lovely cafe / restaurant with small outside area for people watching.

Great menu offering all day breakfasts, as well as heartier dishes.

We had the pulled pork burger (well cooked and a decent amount of pulled pork with sticky bbq sauce) with fantastic fries, a steak ciabatta (well cooked and flavoursome) and a side order of mac n cheese (great and a decent portion!)

The service was lovely and the place had a great atmosphere.

La Ventana Dalston Tapas Restaurant | Best restaurants in London

food   value   menu

La Ventana is a brand new tapas restaurant in the heart of Dalston Square.

What a fantastic menu – La Ventana has all the classics as well as some more unusual dishes.

we ordered the Lubina A La Plancha – grilled sea bass filler served with asparagus risotto and a balsamic glaze – not a dish I normally see on a menu and it was delicious.

The Bombas, deep fried potato balls filled with beef mince, onion, garlic, chilli and herbs served with ali oli and brava sauce, another dish that I don’t see very often on tapas menus – they were absolutely huge and filling!

Some more traditional dishes we had were the Chipirones, crispy fried baby squid served ali oil sauce, choi-sum salad and lemon zest (I prefer it when the squid is a little crispier and the sauce is separate but that is just personal preference), the Grilled Chorizo sautéed with baby onion, choi-sum and thyme, which was fantastic and the Croquetas De Jamon, always a firm favourite of mine.
