This time we’ll be checking out a few of the many excellent eateries in the vicinity of Mindspace London, in search of the best flavours the area has to offer.

Som Saa is a walk-in restaurant (although bookings can be made) offering some of the city’s best Thai cuisine.

Alongside Som Saa’s delectable and perfectly balanced salty, sweet, spicy and sour dishes is a drinks menu with just as much character and finesse.

The atmosphere is great and the service top notch, making Sushinoen a popular favorite for those looking to savour Japanese cuisine.

If you’re short on time, this is a great place to visit as the service is fast and the pizza fresh and delicious.

The restaurant can be found where White Church Lane meets Whitechapel Road, right at the entrance of Altab Ali Park in London’s Whitechapel area.

Displaying a strong Japanese aesthetic sensibility with sleek wooden tables, sharp angles and artifacts, the interior of Sushinoen is stunning.

The cuisine at London’s Sushinoen is also stunning.

Choose from a huge list of nigiri, sashimi, maki and temaki and build your own meal, or take a sushi platter like the Sushinoen moriawase platter or the salmon paradise.

A scoop of green tea or black sesame ice cream – also available deep fried – provides the perfect conclusion to a meal at this Whitechapel Japanese restaurant.

The outer edges of the City keep going up in the world – literally, if developers win planning permission for a new row of skyscrapers on the old Bishopsgate Goodsyard.

Crossrail is coming though, and some reckon this’ll be the next bit of the East End to smarten up its act.

On the ground floor of an ugly office building, next to a betting shop and a strip club and overlooking the rough sleepers in Altab Ali Park, Grounded is hardly what you’d call well situated.

Service could do with a rethink too: you have to order at the counter, but that isn’t made clear (the next table waited a good five minutes before being told by the waitress).

We’ll give Grounded the benefit of the doubt, but if Whitechapel does start losing its edge then this little independent will face stiff competition from the big boys of brunchtime.
