Barber & Parlour combines grooming options for men and women, with a space to eat, drink, shop and relax.

Find us on Redchurch Street, East London, for your instant beauty fix, short back and sides, or a coffee and cold-pressed juice from our kitchen.

Born and raised in East London, this colourful and creative parlour combines accessible beauty with Shoreditch cool.

Inspired by men’s grooming the old-fashioned way, with more than a nod to the classic British barbershop, Neville combines an old-world approach to design with the very best in modern and natural ingredients.

The result is a supercharged line-up of men’s shaving, hair, body and skin care products, all proudly made in England.

If you are a regular reader of the Dapper Chapper, you have probably spent time in the centre of east London ‘hipster’ cool, Shoreditch; so you can imagine the alternative and achingly cool chappers lining the pavement toward Barber & Parlour on Redchurch Street.

Housed in a converted three-story warehouse, Barber & Parlour is a place where all the style, grooming, and entertainment needs of the young London professional are met: not just a barber shop and salon, but a bar/restaurant and art-deco style electric cinema.

From the street follow the chorus of coffee grinders and rattling cocktail shakers up to the first floor, to discover what was later described to me as your “dream front room”: clusters of mismatched leather furniture are dotted around the open plan warehouse floor, divided by scaffold style shelving displaying all the bespoke products and stylish accessories any east London programmer could ask for.

The forced conversation prompted by the unusual intimacy you share with your hairdresser is usually a real chore, but with Tom, a one hour appointment turned into a two hour chat about everything from holiday destinations, to whiskeys (which I obligingly sampled) and finally Neville’s amazing hair and beard products.

The refinement and attention to detail make a visit to Neville’s’ of Barber and Parlour a must for a bit of old fashioned Dapper the middle of London’s cutting edge.

Located in trendy Shoreditch, Barber and Parlour is a handy pit-stop for your pampering sessions, housing both Cheeky and Josh Wood salons under one roof.

Inside, stairs lead up to Barber and Parlour’s restaurant, which offers everything from a quick coffee, to a leisurely dinner or Saturday brunch.

The open-plan space is where all treatments are carried out and its stylish décor makes this place an instant hit.

Next, she buffed away my nails and pushed back the cuticles in preparation for the polish.

Whether you want a quick-fix mani or fun day out with the girls, Barbour and Parlour is well worth the visit.

REVIEW: BARBER AND PARLOUR - London On The Inside

Nothing p}(‘0.6(” is done by half these days is it…which is why often under one roof you have serval things to keep you entertained, fed and sufficiently lubricated!

Barber & Parlour, the new multifunctional salon, kitchen and bar by Soho House on Redchurch St in Shoreditch is no exception.

Set over three floors this is literally a house of fun.

The basement is home to the Electric Cinema, you’ve got the Cheeky Parlour for manis and pedis, Cheeky Hair from Josh Woods for colours, cuts, up-dos and blowouts then there is Barber & Parlour Kitchen which serves up light, healthy dishes, coffee and cold-pressed juices all day (and night) long… Finally you have Neville Barbour, who tackles barnets and beards through cuts, shaves and treatments for men (obvs).

It’s aimed at the modern man though has a very old school approach, that being both in their aesthetics and service.

Grooming rooms and luxury treatment salons open in London all the time, and they’re often excellent ways to blow the best part of £100, if you have the means or occasion.

But if anything is going to up our grooming game, it’s Barber & Parlour, Soho House’s newest London venture.

Barber & Parlour takes up a whole building on Redchurch Street, also home to numerous cool fashion stores and a big advertising agency, with Shoreditch House members’ club just around the corner.

A further menu of waxing and beauty treatments is promised before Christmas, served from two little back rooms, done up Cowshed-style.

Wood has trained a new Shoreditch team, and somehow agreed to a menu of services at least half the price of anything in his two west London branches.

There’s a Cheeky Parlour for manicures and pedicures; Hair by colourist Josh Wood for colours, cuts, up-dos and blowouts; a Beauty Store stocked with cult products, and a Neville Barber for beard trims and haircuts.

On the first floor Hair by Josh Wood is home to Josh’s team of colourists and stylists, it combines the high-end skills and service of Josh’s Lansdowne flagship salon with low maintenance prices and Cheeky’s playful ethos.

Offering everything from a “no strings cut”, to a “fully committed colour”, Josh’s menu plays on the client’s commitment to the service.

Alongside Hair by Josh Wood is a line-up of Cheeky manicure and pedicure services and two groom rooms for waxing and lash services, while The Beauty Store will sell the full Cheeky product line and items from Cowshed, Carmex, Eyeko, Josh Wood and Liz Earle, among others.

So, if you want to stay one step ahead when it comes to style, head on over to our Cheeky Parlour with your friends, get fixed up and strike a pose!
