Giant pancakes at my old dutch (review) | London Eater

I then remembered this great place serving giant pancakes for £8.

Getting back on the subject of food, my old dutch is a pancake house having established a presence in London ever since 1958.

They serve a selection of sweet and savoury pancakes but also feature quite interesting starters such as dutch meatballs in mustard sauce as well as deep fried balls of mozzarella & cheddar cheese, onion & breadcrumbs.

It’s got that super savory quality to it (must be a great dough recipe) that just fuels my appetite.

Folks, if you are looking a nice, chilled out spot for a sunday lunch with the other half, give my old dutch a try, share a sweet and savory, marvel at some new aged art at the Saatchi gallery and end your day with the food market outside partridges.

It’d been a while since I had indulged in a meal at My Old Dutch.

But when an invitation to review the High Holborn pancake house came I way I remembered how much I had enjoyed my last time there and was glad to take the restaurant up on its offer to try it again.

My midweek late breakfast/early lunch was scrumptious and filling.

My Old Dutch’s dining room is vast but comfy, utilitarian but pleasant with plenty of Netherland-y décor: lots of Delft pottery on its proudly orange-painted walls.

My Old Dutch is located at 131-132 High Holborn, WC1V 6PS with locations on King’s Road and Kensington High Street as well.

My Old Dutch offers a large variety of specialised beers including Amstel, Hoegaarden, Grolsch, and a selection of fruit flavoured beers (cranberry, strawberry & passion fruit) made with real fruit.

Also on offer are milkshakes; banana, strawberry, vanilla and real Belgian chocolate, a range of delicious Smoothies and much more.

With Shrove Tuesday just around the corner, I thought it apt to pay My Old Dutch a visit for a pancake fix.

Old people would candidly tell me about lemon juice and sugar fillings, and young ones go on about Nutella.

If the South African mentality was applied in the UK, everybody would look like pancakes, thanks to the sub par weather.

Fussy kids, i.e. mine, can make up their own pancakes (£6.25) with various toppings on offer, much like in the spirit of pizza.

My Old Dutch is definitely the go to place for all things pancake.

This a great pancake house in the South Ken area (not too far from Kensington Palace itself).

If you're craving American pancakes, they have a wide variety of sweet options, but make sure you order the BUTTERSCOTCH PANCAKES!

These don't taste any different than regular American pancakes but they are nice and fluffy.

Their "SWEET PANCAKES" and "SAVORY PANCAKES" are actually crepes - so if... more
