In March 2017, What the Pitta joined the Boxpark family at Croydon to share their meat-free munch with the good folk in south London.

After, co-founder, Cem decided that he was no longer consuming meat and dairy, his partner in crime, Roj took him to Germany to sample his uncle's vegan döner.

Just two short weeks later and What the Pitta was born at The Pump in Shoreditch.

Their innovative take on beloved British late night snack has revolutionised the vegan offerings available in London and it seems their customers can't get enough; including Grime legend, JME.

In summer 2017, What the Pitta return to their roots with a new unit at Boxpark Shoreditch Open Hours:

What: What The Pitta Summing it all up: Boxpark vegan favourites What The Pitta are putting down roots and opening their first restaurant in Camden so North Londoners can get their grill on.

Riding that tide is a couple of British-Turkish pals Cem Yildiz and Rojdan Gul who are the folk behind What The Pitta.

They already have two spots at Boxpark Shoreditch and Croydon and now they've decided to open their first permanent restaurant in Camden.

As for what's in the kebabs, expect non-GMO soya chunks, marinated in a blend of Middle Eastern spices and grilled before being stuffed into the handmade pitta bread and loaded with homemade hummus, tzatziki and salad.

Another day, another vegan announcement (if you missed yesterday’s you can check it out here) today we’re letting you know that What the Pitta, the UK’s first vegan doner kebab stall is opening their third and flagship branch in Camden on the 9th March.

Realising the benefits of a plant-based diet but missing the grilled flavours of Turkish foods, vegan Cem Yildiz, joined forces with friend, Rojdan Gul, whose uncle had been making cult vegan kebabs in Germany for years.

The kebabs are made from non-GMO soya chunks, marinated in a blend of Middle Eastern spices, homemade humus, tzatziki and fresh salads, and wrapped in handmade bread.

Also, on the menu you’ll find a Turkish pizza, baklava and a couscous salad box.

2018 it’s the second year of the vegan fast food and we’re on board.
