4) Season your steak with salt & pepper before cooking.

Press the tip of your thumb and index finger together.

The fleshy area below the thumb is what rare meat feels like.

Do the same with your thumb and middle finger - this is medium rare.

Work your way round to your little finger - this is what well done meat feels like.

The Cambridge Street Kitchen - London Restaurant Review

Along with several rooms, the spot also houses a restaurant, The Cambridge Street Kitchen, which is much more than just a pretty face, as we found out.

The Cambridge Street Kitchen is one such building, which has opened the space out, creating an L-shaped restaurant with an open kitchen in its right angle.

The entire building is a labyrinth of rooms and personalities; upstairs The Cambridge Street Kitchen smacks of sophistication and fine dining.

It seems that the duo behind Artist Residency and The Cambridge Street Kitchen took the ‘art’ ethos seriously with a kitchen that creates plates pretty enough to be mounted on the wall.

The Cambridge Street Kitchen is a sanctuary from London life which wraps you up in their world of gastro cooking, gorgeous artwork and dreamy interiors.

Restaurant review: The Olive Grove | Food & Drink | The Cambridge ...

Nestled unassumingly at the end of Regent Street, independent Greek restaurant The Olive Grove arrived in Cambridge from Elafonisos in 2013.

The menu has undergone a revamp in recent months and features a vast range of authentic dishes given a contemporary twist by head chef Joseph Zatany.

Greek cuisine is known for being meat heavy and here is no exception - lamb, pork and chicken dishes make up a significant chunk of the menu.

Fortunately, vegetarians are well catered for too, and whilst the salad descriptions are not quite as enticing as those of their meaty counterparts, the fantastic selection of dips and mezze dishes means that meat-free friends will not be disappointed.

After much deliberation, we go for feta and spinach pastries with tomato marmalade and aubergine dip with pitta to start.

The Red Lion, Soham | Grace Dent's restaurant review | Life and ...

We ate a perfectly fine celeriac soup with a dash of parsley oil and sourdough bread and a decent, slightly oily shepherd’s pie served in a brown ramekin.

The Red Lion is a place to have a nice motor to if you want to entertain a group near Cambridge or Peterborough.

I loved the Red Lion dearly, and for no reason more profound than it’s just a good boozer.

Sixteen years ago, something happened in the town that must make the locals feel it’s the only thing British people will ever associate with Soham, but here is something joyful, warm-hearted and future-facing, and I, for one, support it.
