Morons of Soho | The queue at the Breakfast Club

Without giving them all away – there’s a whole six-minute feature on The One Show going begging – it includes carrying an M&M’s World bag and drinking Red Bull on the morning commute.

It was tough competition, I can tell you, but after hours and minutes of deliberation it was decided, with a whole load of unanimous, that the ultimate signifier of moron-ness in London’s Glittering West End was the queue at The Breakfast Club.

That’s a whole other kettle of rude that all the right people, and some people who are no one at all, have been moaning about recently even though it’s been working my reserve nerve ever since Russell Norman perfected it way back Polpo, then rubbed it in with Spuntino and Mishkin’s.

There is only one place in the world I’ll queue without resentment, and that’s Horse Meat Disco, and that’s because it’s a nightclub and you can drink in the queue – ergo you’re drunk.

I’ve got places to see, people to do, and unless it’s Concorde at the end of that line you’ll find me somewhere else entirely having fun.

The Breakfast Club have 13 caf’s in London and Brighton and each of these offer something different to each other, we visited their original caf in Soho.

well it is a caf not a cafe and it is good, honest, tasty food delights at pretty ok price points for central London.

Pancake stack: One of the hero’s of The Breakfast club, my pancakes were cooked and re heated and they had been left on the hot plate for too long and as a result the were crispy in parts and one was more like a biscuit in texture rather than a fluffy light pancake, not good.

The foods you must try: My favorite items that we tried were their Home-style Potatoes, Sausages, Poached eggs and Coffee.

I am thrilled that we choose to visit The Breakfast Club on out recent trip to London and I would happily wait 75 minutes for a table here again and I would without a shadow of a doubt recommend this fabulous spot to my friends and family.

When you walk past a restaurant many times and it always has a line of people waiting for a table, you can’t help but wonder why.

Although you could classify The Breakfast Club as a ‘chain’, each restaurant has its own distinct décor.

Plenty of great sounding options were on offer with sections listed as Club Classics, Benedicts, Eggs, Fruit and Nuts, and Pancakes.

I’m not sure if that last statement is necessarily a negative as we ordered pretty ‘plain jane’ food options, Id like to try another location to see how this one compares, or perhaps visit again at another time of day.

I heard good things about this place and always saw people outside waiting for a table.

I didn’t know if this was clever marketing or simply the food was really good in there so I decided to find out.

we all went for pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and they were good (not the best I’ve ever had).

I personally like my bacon a little more crispy and we needed a lot more maple syrup than what was provided but this was supplied to us with no hassle.

The coffee and hot chocolates were good quality and taste good.

An art deco American diner meets Club Tropicana with mouth watering food at any time of the day - opening its doors for the first time outside of London, The Breakfast Club has come to Brighton and I got to sample the gluttonous goods.

As for drinks, The Breakfast Club offers something for every palate - organic tea, authentic Southern American coffee, healthy smoothies, thick ice cream milkshakes, a variety of cocktails, beers and wine.

Whilst individual tables and booths are available, breakfast bar style seating and connected benches offers people a chance to make some friends, which mirrors The Breakfast Club's sociable and welcoming demeanour.

Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner - whatever time scramble (geddit) your way The Breakfast Club you can be sure that you'll have great tasting American style food, whether you go for something healthy, or not so much......

A welcome change from the drab day to day, The Breakfast Club took me back to a time where bringing a splash of fun to your dining experience was as standard.

My love of breakfast food is well documented, so when I heard there was a place where you could eat it all day and night, I was sold.

My second time was at The Foodies festival where I drunkenly pestered them (two days in a row) for use of their power point to charge my phone, whilst eating two more of their American breakfasts – I can’t comment on those either, because I was… trashed (soz Mum).

I’ve been a member of Gala since I was 18 (don’t judge me) but if strip lighting, shit food and a questionable clientele aren’t your bag, then may I recommend trying the boozy bingo at The Breakfast Club.

So don’t be fooled by the name, whilst breakfasts do take centre stage there’s something for everyone and at any time of the day.

I’m working on my 2016 Brighton breakfast round up so please do post your suggestions in the comments section below or hit me up on social media – links below.

There are few more affable temples to nostalgia than this cluttered café, its brick walls covered with ’80s memorabilia – from record sleeves of celebrated movie soundtracks (Back To The Future, St Elmo’s Fire) to a T-shirt bearing the surnames of the original Breakfast Club actors.

Breakfasts take centre stage: from a full English and a US variation featuring maple syrup pancakes, to a Latin American breakfast burrito.
