Shampers Wine Bar & Restaurant - British Hospitality Association

Shampers is an independent restaurant and bar under the same ownership since 1991, when we bought the lease.

My background before training as a cook was 8 years in the wine trade.

Ruth, our Head Cook, has been with us since the beginning, as has Roth, our Senior Manager.

Our menu features plenty of daily specials, many of which are “tapas” style, and can be enjoyed informally at the bar.

We do love to “customise” menus for people, so please do ask!

RESTAURANT REVIEW: JINJUU, KINGLY STREET | London ...

Head to Kingly Street to eat kimchi and drink kooky cocktails at Judy Joo’s Soho restaurant… Kingly Street, just off Carnaby Street and tucked away from the rush of Oxford Street, is a go-to destination for those looking for a varied food and drink scene, whether meeting friends post-shopping or unwinding after a long day at work.

There’s the Wright Brothers’ Soho Oyster House, Dishoom, Pizza Pilgrims, Cinnamon Soho and the infamous Forties-themed bar Cahoots, so you’re spoilt for choice – but while you’re there, don’t miss the chance to try out Korean cuisine at JinJuu.

The brainchild of celebrity chef Judy Joo, who made a name for herself as the only female Iron Chef UK, Jinjuu (which means ‘pearl’) serves up delicious sharing plates inspired by Korean street food, like the sae-woo pops – prawn cakes served on sticks with an ‘addictive’, creamy gochujang mayo on the side, and carnitas fries slathered with cheddar and fresh kimchi.

Be sure to pair your plates with some of the more unusual offerings on the cocktail menu, like the zesty White Rice Negroni or the (hilariously) named Love Me Long Thyme, which combines thyme-infused Bombay Sapphire with lime, mandarin, chilli and bamboo charcoal.

The signature Korean fried chicken, though, is the stand-out offering.

Try to get a table on the ground floor rather than downstairs.

They never hurry you up for a table and even though you can sit at the bar, it is always advisable to book in advance.

"I was with my friend for dinner tonight, everything was fine until the waitress dropped the oil on the floor.

All oli spilled over my new shirt and my hair.
