Our Rick heads down to Bounce in Old Street for a pizza centric dinner happily interrupted by ping pong balls, thumping music and Batman references… City workers (you will find them here, ties off, top buttons undone perhaps letting off a little steam and enjoying life) Those with birthday parties that need hosting.

Based smack bang in the middle of Old Street Shoreditch lies Bounce, a new kind of social dining experience.

Bounce is a great idea – in that first you peruse a very accommodating bar, then you engage in frantic ping pong session while your table is readied for dinner.

Upon descending the stairs I began to hear the distant and familiar thwacking and pinging of a myriad of balls upon 17 ping pong tables provided, which grew louder and louder until I was in a very large converted subterranean basement space.

There’s more table tennis balls popping up and out from unexpected places then a Bangkok ping pong show, frequently I encounter an overly apologetic soul desperately scurrying between the legs of bemused patron’s after a misfired ball.

Bounce Old Street | London Bar Reviews | DesignMyNight

The latest site features 17 tables, and you'll have the chance to play your friends on the actual table used for the World Championships Final in Tokyo last year.

Away from the action there's a delicious, eclectic menu by Executive Chef, Rich Edney, as well as a cocktail bar and a private function room complete with three tables and its own dedicated bar.

Bounce has just launched a new concept called Wonderball.

It's not Ping Pong, but it is a completely new immersive activity.

Using state of the art projection mapping, each Wonderball table becomes a giant computer game, introducing a whole new way for groups to play - with very little skill needed.

Bounce Old Street | Bars and pubs in Hoxton, London

This second venue from the ping pong bar Bounce opened its in Old Street in autumn 2015.

As well as ballgames, there's an open-plan restaurant serving up traditional Italian pizzas along a 25-foot pizza counter, and suave cocktails from the bar, neither of which are likely to improve your game, but will make for a great night out.

The original Bounce, which is based in Farringdon, is allegedly located on the very spot that the beautiful, bouncy game was invented.
