With the design inspired by its close proximity to the Royal Park, the tranquillity of the Park Room offers welcome respite from the shops and sights of Park Lane and Mayfair with a varied menu; featuring Afternoon Tea as well as a la carte options and a creative Cocktail and Champagne menu at the bar.

Around this time Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford is said to have complained of “having that sinking feeling” during the late afternoon, to overcome this feeling a light meal consisting of tea (usually Darjeeling) and cakes or sandwiches was served.
From this want, the Afternoon Tea ritual was born.

Announcement In September 2017 the first phase of an exciting restoration, designed to significantly enhance the facilities of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London was completed with the unveiling of its newly restored Knightsbridge facing rooms.
Work has now begun on the Hyde Park side of the hotel which will be completed in Summer 2018.
