This Marylebone newcomer is the perfect hangout for Mexican food lovers with sophistication; wave goodbye to what you think you know about heavy, stodgy Mexican food and say “Hola!”

If your date loves Mexican food (you wouldn’t be dating them if they didn’t), you’ll be sure to impress them by bringing them here – this is a venue that both understands their passion and is able to build on it with dishes that score highly on the scale of refinement.

If Molé was a celebrity among South American food, it would be the ever-so-chic Victoria Beckham: classic, refined and classy.

This is the perfect place to take a gluten-free beau, as 80 percent of Molé’s menu contains zero gluten, while still maintaining that classic Mexican comfort-food vibe.

If you go to any Mexican restaurant on a date in London, make sure its Molé and you’ll have plenty more dates to come.

Delicious tacos, I went with the atole fried chicken and the hoisin duck.

The duck definitely had more flavour and my friend spoke highly of the squid tacos

At Mole Taco Bar you’ll find Mexican and Latin American food that’s extraordinary to taste and beautiful to look at.

This place is a real little gem of London’s Marylebone where the food ranges from Anticuchos (skewers), raw dishes in the way of tostada and ceviche, an extremely impressive selection of gourmet tacos and main dishes.

Any of the tacos come highly-recommended, but the baja fish variety with cod tempura, chipotle mayo and jalapeño slaw is a delight.

You’ll find Mole Taco Bar on Picton Place, a very short walk from Bond Street station.

So this modern indie taco station on a side road round that way is as welcome as a lake in the Mexican desert.

Unsurprisingly, this mostly comprised tacos.

They’re good, though – if not, at £8 for two, the cheapest – with soft shells made from scratch on site, heartily loaded with toppings.

Baja fish tacos featured nicely battered pollock and an enjoyably sharp slaw that cut through it all.

The soft- shell crab option was a little ill-conceived, with prickly battered legs jutting rudely out from the tortilla wrapping.
