Oy Vegan takes London! Restaurant Review: Manna - Oy Vegan!

For starters we ordered the spiced jerk tofu, plantain & sweet potato kebab and the raw maki rolls.
Above: Raw Maki Rolls — raw ‘riced’ parsnip, carrots, beetroot, and avocado, served with tamari, pickled ginger and wasabi pea coulis For our mains, we ordered the root vegetable tagine, the organic spaghetti and veatballs, the chef’s special pasta and the ravioli, which I ordered.
They were stuffed with walnut and wild mushroom paté and covered in a fennel cream sauce.
It was in a cream sauce as well with fresh yellow bell peppers.

Itadaki Zen is an organic and vegan Japanese restaurant.
The main restaurant fills with light during the day, and now that the restaurant is open for lunch, customers will be able to enjoy it.
There's a counter table and many small tables, which makes it easy to accommodate people dining alone, those in a small group, as well as, larger groups.
Itadaki Zen gets very busy, so I'd strongly recommend that you book a table if you want to guarantee a seat.
There's also a private room which can seat up to 15 people.

An organic, vegan Japanese restaurant?
The organic, vegan bit fits well with our eco eating mission, the Japanese bit is something of a surprise.
Organic loving vegans don't get to eat sushi or noodles very often.
Next we try three larger dishes – Ten-don (tempura on rice), Miso-nikomi udon (noodle soup) and Neba-Neba-don (vegetables and rice).
The Siawese promises to improve harmony between our organs and the Sasou to powerfully clean our bowels, something that makes us nervous.

At some point, after the Australia-Wales Rugby Match, we ended up in a random Malaysian restaurant.
Yes, she ran into her cousin Taman at a random Malaysian restaurant in Cardiff.
So I was worried about the agedashi tofu because Guy Diamond in Time Out said "…mirin and shoyu (soy sauce) broth called tsuyu – should have intense flavours to complement the delicate tofu, but this version disappointingly lacked great depth."
The rest was good, but would have been better with the tempura dipping sauce I'm used to.
(At Itadaki Zen, the tempura is served with just the salt.

But despite operating from a narrow pool of ingredients, the predominantly noodle/tofu/seaweed menu impresses with its range of tastes and textures.
Grilled spring rolls with soft mashed tofu filling were a welcome change to the usual greasy, stringy sort, while the ‘kakiage’ tempura for main had the same salty, crisp, golden, gorgeous smack as chips on Brighton pier, and came with fluffy rice.
All puddings are sugar-free on principle, which made the pumpkin cake with tofu cream too savoury for us, tasting as it did of Irish potato farl.
Probably a good thing, after three courses of tofu.
