So when Lazy Hunter opened up shop opposite my day job, I immediately got the team together and have been back time and time again.

The décor at Lazy Hunter is very Canadian cabin meets hipster burger joint.

The menu at Lazy Hunter is a meat and carb lover’s heaven.

I’ve previously had a few dishes at Lazy Hunter and so know that each and every plate is going to be equally scrumptious.

A black bun (using squid ink, naturally) of roasted slices of hog, streaky bacon, mushroom, caramelised onion chutney sprinkled with chestnuts and pickles (Lazy Hunter really like their pickles).

This time we went for dinner at the charming Lazy Hunter, a delicious slice of countryside vibes in the heart of Camden.

If you are looking for a rustic and heart-warming restaurant in Camden, then look no further, the Lazy Hunter is the place for you.

If you’re as hungry as a wolf, we’d recommend the Dark Forest Hog’s Burger, which comes in a homemade black bun filled with wild mushrooms, tender chestnuts, crispy bacon and of course delicious roasted slices of Hog.

If after all that, you've a hankering for something sweet then never fear, Lazy Hunter have got you covered on that front too with its collection of so called 'naughty things'.

So wait no longer and head over to the Lazy Hunter on Kentish Town Road for a delicious feast that won't hurt your bank balance.

The light back dining room at Lazy Hunter with views onto a courtyard garden.

Photo: SE Lazy Hunter is the slightly odd name for the latest food opening on the lower Kentish Town Road – and near the run of indie cafes that includes Anima e Cuore, Bintang and Arancini Brothers.

Like all the dishes, this was served in a bowl on a wooden pallet: a robust mix of tomatoes, meaty sausages, chorizo and beans in a rich sauce, crowned with shredded duck and roasted hog, it felt especially decadent when dunked with the springy home-made sourdough.

Photo: SE Ipreferred the venison burger, however.

My colleague Tom here has since been with his wife and enjoyed a juicy, chargrilled steak – and yet another outstanding venison burger (yes, time for us to explore the rest of the menu, methinks).

Amazing staff and very friendly service.

Amazing brunch menu with fab choices and an outdoor space which is perfect for the summer months!

This place is absolutely amazing, very nice "hunter" decor and food is of exceptionally high quality.

The fried belly pork was nicely cooked (not the hog I was expecting) but it was served on dry French fries with fried onions on top and a few slices of chilli scattered about.

The sweet potato fries are also absolutely amazing, and the service is great.

That translates into a meaty menu that includes venison and a whole lotta pig.

The largely carnivorous menu is split into sections of ‘lazy things’ (burgers), ‘easy things’ (nibbles and boards) and ‘big things’ (proper plates).

Though needlessly served in a black brioche bun, it was a decent enough stack of roast pork, bacon and chestnuts (even if the pig was on the dry side).

The Lazy Burger – a simple minced beef patty with tangy pickle – was more accomplished.

Keep things lazy, as nature intended.
