Wahaca - mighty steak burrito is the new workman's lunch ~ London ...
food menu busyness
La burrito, Wahaca's most popular dish (photo by Linnie) Address: The Park Pavillion, 40 Canada Square London E14 5FW Phone: 020 7516 9145 Nearest Tube station: Canary Wharf Ratings (out of 5 *) Price: below £10 Service charge: N/A Taste: *** Service: *** Ambience: ***So here I am again - the clock strikes one and it's lunchtime.
With a commanding view of Canada Square Park and a foosball table to boot, it's easy to forgive Wahaca for the wait.
Wahaca's burritos have gathered such a large following that it has a street van right smacked in the north side of Canada Square Park, a mere fifty metres from the restaurant.
The burrito that I had for dinner was cold and the steak almost dried.

food
Wahaca brings the spirit of Mexican market eating to the UK: respect for quality ingredients, passion for vibrant, fresh and honest food and the pleasure of sharing with others.
Everything is ethically sourced so you can get messy with a clear conscience by sharing tacos and quesadillas, washed down with fresh hibiscus water or a delicious cocktail.

My husband and I ordered the “Wahaca Selection”, £19.95 for five dishes, an excellent introduction for newcomers.
My husband drank a Mexican beer, Ted had fruit juice with a straw.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Wahaca selection, it was a good introduction for my husband who had never eaten there before.
The menu is mostly made up of tapas sized portions of various quesadillas, tacos and less familiar Mexican specialities such as tostadas (a mini salad on a small tortilla) and taquitos (deep fried filled tortillas with cream).
Cost for grown ups: around £15 per head plus service Cost of Ted’s meal: around £9 including a soft drink (my husband ate half of his dessert) Free parking is available for 3 hours at weekends in Canary Wharf’s shopping centre.
Wahaca - Mexican Market Eating - Uk Restaurant chain ...
food staff location
I love Mexican food and I think this is the best British Mexican restaurant chain I've been to in a very long while.
If the name already rings a bell, it's probably because you've seen Wahaca's co-founder, Cheltenham born Thomasina Miers on Channel 5's Mexican Food Made Simple tv cookery program or maybe you remember her as BBC 2's 2005 Masterchef winner.
For under £20 we had the Wahaca Street Food Selection for 2 people: 3 pork pibil tacos, 3 winter vegetable tacos, 1 large huitlacoche quesadilla, 2 black bean tostadas and 2 chicken taquitos with green rice & black beans.
Unlike some British Mexican restaurant offerings that appear to come straight from the microwave or the deep fat frier, these were cooked to order and packed with fresh vegetables.
A very slick operation that has been replicated in 11 locations in the South East, 13 if you count the 2 Mexican Mobile Eating vans.

I am absolutely surprised that I have been asked to leave a review, after a huge disappointment to a 50th birthday celebration.
I booked a table for a party of 30, as it was my uncle's 50th birthday.
We thought it would have been a great spot to celebrate after ice skating, also in Canary Wharf.
Since Wahaca restaurant over looked the ice rink, it was an ideal choice.
When we arrived we were told that no discount could be given, for the reduced menu that was available.

For traditional market eating, try this straight talking, no nonsense Mexican way.

“What a variety of food!
