staff

I ordered quite a lot of canapes and a small buffet and although the food was delicious, they just didn't organise enough staff to serve it and it sat, going to waste, on the side, getting cold under the air conditioning, with many of my guests not even knowing it was there!

The bar worked out okay but I had organised a glass of proseco for everyone on arrival and again, glasses weren't filled and I can't believe all the bottles were actually used - the few staff there were just didn't have enough time!

The bouncer that I was assured would be on the door, didn't materialize for quite a while, so we were left ourselves to fend off the public from coming in to use the bar and toilets.

I did have a fabulous night but the lack of staff and communication were definitely a problem.

Would I recommend it as a venue - yes, it's a great space but they need to get more staff and communicate better with their clients and I'd order much less food - I think a lot of it ended up in the bin - which was really upsetting!

Lord of the Wings are bringing their fried, free range, sauce-drenched chicken wings to Highgate pub The Duke’s Head American-inspired buffalo wings is Lord of the Wings' speciality, who are temporarily moving into The Duke’s Head, bringing with them lots of Southern-style cooking, including minted watermelon salad, tropical frozen fruit bars and of course, lots of Buffalo wings, slathered in one of five sauces of your choice.

On your wings, which come with celery and blue cheese dip, you can choose from: The idea is that each sauce evokes a different part of the states.

“We use the chicken wing as a vehicle to help travel through America,” they said, inspired by a recent roadtrip through NY state, which they’re calling a ‘wing-pilgrimage’.

The sides menu has a several American classics like slaw, which Lord of the Rings makes with citrus, plus sweet potato or waffle fries, buffalo-sauce battered cauliflower, mango salsa with tortilla chips and that refreshing-sounding watermelon salad.
