food   ambience

I looked to my friend, Hannah, to confirm the choice of flavour.

“Yes, and a double pipe too, please.”

Instead, we were on the rooftop of the Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch.

We had huffed and puffed our way up what had felt like a never-ending flight of brightly painted stairs (at least they were aesthetic, hello Instagram) some minutes earlier to be met on the rooftop by an explosion of colour and the buzz of conversation as we entered the 'Medina' via a giant wigwam.

exclaimed Hannah, taking in the Persian-style rugs, glimmering lanterns, draped fabrics, heavily embroided cushions, leather poufs and accompanying low-set tables.
