Cha Cha Moon — Cha Cha Moon | Architecture

We used bamboo to create space that feels like a cave.

We used bamboo vertically in the Bamboo House we built on the Great Wall in China, but for this project, we used bamboo horizontally to create a cross-section that looks like a cave, and placed mirrors at both ends to make the space seamless.

The cave is another roof that was built inside the building.

Our fundamental approach to architecture consists of creating space with a roof rather than creating space with walls.

The Aldwych Theatre in Aldwych, London was designed and built by W.G.R. Sprague alongside the present Novello Theatre, which was originally named the Waldorf Theatre.

In 1949 Vivienne Leigh starred in the stage production of A Streetcar Named Desire at The Aldwych, in which she had previously won an Oscar for her role in the film version.

The nearest tube station to Aldwych Theatre is Covent Garden Station which is a 5 to 10 minute walk away to the theatre.

The Aldwych Theatre has a seating capacity of 1,200 on 3 levels – Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle.
