As well as our award winning Mexican street food and freshly shaken cocktails, a Mexican breakfast menu is served daily from 8am during the week and 9am at weekends – offering freshly prepared dishes with a Mexican twist, served alongside steaming hot chocolate and freshly brewed organic coffee, teas and juices.

I saw her make a couple of TV series for Channel 4 and then the fantastic ‘Mexican Food Made Simple’ for Channel 5, possibly the only show I’ve ever enjoyed on that channel?

I didn’t expect the only queuing to come at the Covent Garden branch of a fairly mainstream Mexican street food restaurant but that’s exactly what happened at Wahaca.

Gorgeous crispy pork scratchings with just a hint of fennel work so well with the creamy fresh guacamole.

Quesadillas are also one of my favourite things, so simple yet utterly delicious with almost any filling, as long as it includes loads of melted cheese!

It’s my kind of food, simple, fresh and vibrant with huge flavours.

Usually when I wake up in London wanting breakfast there’s only one place on my mind; Dishoom’s ‘Bacon Naan’ is legendary and one of my all time favourite breakfast items.

Then I remembered that Mexican street food chain Wahaca serve breakfast.

I really enjoyed my breakfast at Wahaca, just like previous visits for the main menu it’s fast and good value, while the food is fresh, vibrant and full of flavour.

‘St. JOHN Restaurant’ in London has been there since 1994 and held a Michelin star since 2009.

You might think a meat eater going to a place like St. JOHN and ordering the only vegetarian main course is a bit mad.

Ignoring the pigeon, goat and trotter dishes that I subtly suggested she went for ‘Beetroot & Goats Curd’.

Just warm, braised beetroot with a hefty chunk of fresh goat’s curd on top.

Sadly we visited St. JOHN at the end of a flying trip to London and had to rush off to Euston for a train home.

So Let me introduce you to the Vegan friendly Carrot Gnocchi, Red beets, sherry radishes, gingered swede, caraway pickled walnuts, and orange hemp seed dressing.

Beautifully presented (as my dish was too) it had a good flavour, with the homemade beans hitting the spot.

She felt she should have had the haloumi though instead of the bacon which she felt would have worked better to make a fuller more well rounded dish.

Our food was washed down by two excellent liquid Cuddle Beers Which Complimented the two dishes well.

If you desire to be challenged and try top end food for a bargain price (though not cheap) then this is the place for you where innovative exciting Vegetarian dishes (there were five on the short menu.)

We are delighted to to be the first restaurant group in the UK to be certified as a CarbonNeutral company – here’s how: Since opening our very first restaurant in Covent Garden in 2007, we have sought to be a climate leader in the industry, challenging ourselves to ensure that each site has as low an environmental impact as possible.

Our group, which currently has 23 locations, has reduced the average total energy consumption of newer sites (those established after 2013) by 36%.

Further to this, we have regularly assessed the efficiency of older locations, and by upgrading systems and appliances have decreased the average energy consumption of older sites by 15%.

For example, adjusting a heater battery at the Bluewater Wahaca led to a 76% reduction in gas use.

In 2016, through offsetting the remaining unavoidable energy usage by investing in far-reaching energy-saving initiatives, Wahaca has been certified as having a net zero carbon footprint.
