London Fields & Broadway Market| Destination Hackney
location
A POPULAR weekend hangout, this area is busy all year round.
Packed with hipsters and families alike, looking for a slice of the green space, great bars, and cool cafes on offer.
No excursion to the area is complete without a trip Broadway Market on Saturday, which rivals any gourmet farmers’ market in London.
Green Flag-award winning London Fields park has something for everyone, from a play zone and paddling pool for families, to a BBQ area and London's only 50-metre heated outdoor pool, the London Fields Lido.
Visitors should also take a detour to Mentmore Terrace, near London Fields station, where it is easy to find independent retailers and makers such as the London Fields Brewery, E5 Bakehouse and Happy Kitchen.

food
Well established here now, the Dove's Belgian theme is so well executed it doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary any more.
If you're in the mood for a seemingly endless range of excellent Belgian beers and some pretty decent continental-style food that's not 21st century gastropub fare, then this is the place for you.
It's still a great pub and an excellent reason to visit Hackney - the Dove is well worth the tramp up from Bethnal Green tube.

food ambience
Since Broadway Market became a little more than just an East London back street with food stalls on a Saturday, The Dove has gone from strength to strength.
The whole area has changed rapidly over the last five years but while the market attracts thousands to its mixture of clothing, record and food stalls, the pub has barely changed a bit.It still retains the traditional look and the only glimpse of an alternative flounce is the huge Leffe mural stuck to the ceiling above the otherwise standard décor of heavy wooden tables on well-worn floorboards.
The large windows at the front capture the light and it’s slightly breezier up here but you can guarantee that come summer most of the drinking will be done on the street outside. As well as being a free house serving standard lagers, it also packs a massive range of Belgian beers by the bottle and a set on draught, including Palm and Delerium.
It’s restaurant area serves up fairly expensive gastro-style cuisine and there’s a range of gourmet burgers and sausages along with traditional Belgian meals in the pub.Aside from its irritating noise policy there’s not much to fault with The Dove and if this Broadway Market thing does ever die off it will still be going just the way it is.

Broadway Market’s Dove is Belgian beer heaven.
There’s certainly no messing around on Dove’s tome-like menu filled with Trappist, gueuze and fruit beers: it’s an exhaustive list celebrating the best of a proper beer culture.
There’s the expected Broadway Market trendy community present at most times, as the Dove makes a perfect post-market pitstop or afternoon party venue.
Steaming bowls of moules marinière fly from the kitchen just as steadily as pints from the bar.
Craft beer done the time-honoured Low-Country way.
