Dunns Bakery, Crouch End -London - Thanks For The Food

Review analysis

Yepp, that’s right-yet another bakery in Crouch End.

Although it is one of the many bakeries in the neighbourhood, Dunn’s Bakery certainly stands out as one of the best.

The perhaps unassuming exterior houses one of the oldest and most beloved bakeries in North London.

It’s not hard to see why Dunn’s has a long standing reputation for not only seriously laying the smackdown to your tastebuds (and they have the industry awards to prove it) but also for community involvement.

If you are in the ‘hood, or want to see how one of London’s bests do it up proper, pop in for any of the aforementioned menu items.

Dunn’s bakery in Crouch End is a well loved local institution.

It has been part of the fabric of Crouch End Broadway for generations and still prides itself on using high quality, locally sourced ingredients to produce a fabulous array of breads, cakes, pastries and confectionery.

GVWI President Holly is very fond of the salmon bagels while GVWI Secretary Elin has been won over by the bread (especially the current guest loaf, a Redemption Ale bread).

GVWI would like to thank Dunn’s for the part they play in the local community– Dunn’s recently donated fifteen cake boxes to the GVWI for the Jubilee festivities in Battersea Park!

Whether you are looking for a loaf of bread for weekday sandwiches or a special cake for a celebration, Dunn’s is at the top of our list.

There’s a firm belief at Hummingbird Bakery that cakes should taste as good as homemade ones, hence why each shop has a dedicated kitchen and a team of in-house bakers freshly baking sweet delights using exactly the same ingredients and techniques as those used in home baking.

Story: A couple of professional guys moved from New York to live and work in London, but discovered that good, wholesome cupcakes, sweet pies and fresh tarts were really hard to come by.

Story: Lizzie D’s is all about bringing the taste of America to the streets of London selling all-butter cookies, sweet fruit breads and the great American deep-dish pie.

It’s not just coffee and cake that they serve – it’s a breakfast till dinner vibe, with each menu rustling up all time favourites – porridge, salads and steaks.
