Café Pacifico and La Perla Bar, and their roots Café Pacifico and La Perla Bar is an original Mexican Restaurant serving authentic California – Mexican food and drink, located in Central Amsterdam, London, Paris, and Sydney.
When Cafe Pacifico opened its first restaurant in Amsterdam in 1976, the food was based on Los Angeles-Mexican style cooking.
Since then the menu has grown to include recipes developed in the Pacifico kitchens, as well as various regional dishes from Mexico and the Southwestern U.S. Pacifico’s food is healthy and freshly made in-house daily.
Café Pacifico and La Perla Bar also have evenings celebrating special occasions in the Mexican calendar.

Many moons ago before the invention of Wahaca, the only way Londoners could get an authentic taste of Mexican food was to fly straight to Mexico or indulge themselves on a trip to the States.
Working nearby at the time, my friend and old work colleague Doretta and I spent many an evening at this lively restaurant, starting the night with a few frozen magararitas before tucking in to the tacos, enchiladas and the best guacamole dip we’d ever tasted.
Since then, many food trends have come and gone, but I’m pleased to report that Café Pacifico still remains, serving delicious Mexican food and killer cocktails to locals and tourists alike.
On a Wednesday weekday Café Pacifico was full of birthday parties, friends on a night out and in our case, old mates taking a trip down memory lane.
Twenty years on from our first visit Café Pacifico still rocks, just don’t get addicted to those margaritas…

Well there’s been a constantly-running stream of rumours about Cafe Pacifico for a long time, and all pretty much all good, since it opened its doors in Covent Garden almost 30 years ago.
Arguably less famous than its next door neighbours on Langley Street, Pineapple Dance Studios and the original Hawksmoor, Cafe Pacifico remains one of London’s most authentic Mexican Cantina experiences (albeit a fairly kitsch one) and a bona fide London classic.

Cafe Pacifico is tucked around the corner from London’s bustling Covent Garden and is a wonderfully authentic Mexican resaurantt, absolutely packed with delicious dishes and bursting with as much atmosphere as there is flavour in their food.
It has a super collection of Mexican classics in its appetisers and main courses alongside a whole host of dishes which are not commonly found on most Mexican menus, but which leap off the page and demand to be tried.
The children’s dishes were also a good size too with enchiladas, rice, salad and guacamole.
This was a superb dish and once again was a really good size and balanced with a range of mexican flavours.
To keep the Mexican flavours going the Churros on the dessert menu come with a spicy chile-chocolate sauce.

There's certainly an enduring appeal to this Mexican cantina on Langley Street - it's been serving Covent Garden visitors since 1982 and shows little sign of letting up.
The food menu combines classic Mexican dishes with those of a more Tex-Mex bent.
Expect, therefore, smoked chicken quesadillas, sizzling beef fajitas, nachos and burritos alongside boquerones with smoked chilli mayo, sea bass baked in banana leaf and served with a sun-dried tomato salsa, and chicken chilaquiles verdes - a chicken and corn tortilla casserole.
The selection of tacos looks interesting - think fillings of confit duck with a smoked chilli glaze, roasted pork belly with a tamarind jerk sauce, or tempura scallops and king prawn.
