Masala Zone: Best Indian restaurants in London

food

At Masala Zone, we have a passion for making sure customers have an enjoyable time – delicious genuine Indian food, newly renovated exciting interiors and great staff.

From our start in 2001 this has been recognised by media & customers alike.

Eg  Evening Standard has rated us as one of London’s six best Indian restaurants, Zagat London Restaurants Survey as London’s Most Popular Restaurant Group; The Daily Telegraph as one of London’s best restaurants.

We unusually combine a panoramic range of proper Indian food - pioneering street food, thalis (the balanced family platters), daily changing freshly made vegetables, flavourful grills, regional curries, biryanis.

Our food is uniquely from the true sources of Indian food – the gourmet homes & street stalls across India’s regions.

food

The guys behind Masala Zone know a wee bit about Indian food; they also own Michelin starred Veeraswamy and Amaya along with Chutney Mary, a pretty impressive collection of restaurants.

Goan crispy fried prawns (£7.50) are super crispy and a great little bar snack.

We order a separate paneer curry (£9.75) which comes in a sweet tomato sauce.

I could do without the latter but the ice creams are charming.

Masala Zone felt like a well oiled machine – the place was heaving yet the staff were efficient and friendly and the food was really rather tasty.

I did eat in a certain somewhere just recently with 11 sites across the UK and there was no love in the food or the service at all, but Masala Zone is nothing like any chain I have ever eaten in.

Arguably the best thing about Masala Zone (apart from its food) is the staff and chefs.

Whilst the menu here at Masala Zone is split into starters and main courses, all of the food is actually great for sharing.

Some of my favourite dishes here at Masala Zone.

We had such a lovely afternoon at Masala Zone in Covent Garden and I highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic modern Indian food – all at very affordable prices.

food

Masala Zone, on Covent Garden’s Floral Street, is a restaurant that has reinvented one of Britain’s favourite cuisines.

This is not the kind of Indian food you get at your average curry house.

The food at Masala Zone is clean, light, fresh, spicy and tasty, and celebrates the depth of flavours from different regions of India.

The Covent Garden branch of Masala Zone, just behind the Royal Opera House, is spacious and modern with colourful Rajasthani puppets hanging from the ceiling.

food

Masala Zone is part of a unique collection of London's finest Indian restaurants – including the legendary Chutney Mary, Veeraswamy & Amaya, offering enjoyable, memorable dining experiences - delicious Indian cuisines, exciting interiors & stylish hospitality.

The best Indian food is found in gourmet homes, on street stalls, or Maharaja's palaces, and not in restaurants in India.

Masala Zone have pioneered in bringing street food to the London restaurant table and offer an unrivalled array of these dishes.

There are rows of street food hawkers cooking and selling these delectable delicacies before your eyes in any busy street in India.

Masala Zone's street food is prepared in open dispense kitchens in full view of customers- although not quite the same as being on the streets of India.
