REVIEW: Le Garrick, Covent Garden - The 'LBD' of French Bistros ...

These were plump and juicy, scented with garlic and parsley and served alongside a basket of really good French stick.
If I had to poke holes I’d say there wasn’t quite enough garlic butter.
THESE were indeed drenched in the perfect amount of garlic, spiced and pungent butter, making dipping my bread an utter delight.
Next came a perfectly cooked onglet steak with crisp frites and a properly done peppercorn sauce.
I also tried the duck breast with cherry sauce and celeriac mash.

When it comes to service too, it doesn’t get much better than this, especially when led by passionate and charismatic restaurant manager, Luca Delicieux – expect to be part of the Le Garrick family by the time you leave.
Le Garrick had kindly provided me with some lovely bright photos to use, but as a rule I always use my own and it was pretty dark inside, so do excuse the quality.
The food at this gorgeous little French restaurant had so far proved to be one of Covent Garden’s hidden gems – surely it would slip up somewhere?
It’s got charm, personality, great staff, tradition and honest – yet simple food which showcases everything good that France has to offer.
If good value and great food is what you’re after then look no further because Le Garrick is here – and has been for 28 years with open arms.

That ethos couldn’t be more true for Le Garrick in Covent Garden.
Situated in the heart of Covent Garden, this quaint French brasserie serves up a menu full of familiar classic, but also original customer favourites which no wants to ever see leave the menu.
We started our French journey one cosy dark evening with my favourite dish from Le Garrick.
We also ordered some of Le Garrick’s smooth foie gras with crispy bread for smearing onto and side of home-made chutney.
If Le Garrick wasn’t already central London’s best classic French brasserie – it’s even better now after its shiny new refurbishment with excellent looking new menus and brand new dishes to enjoy.
