City of Westminster It is impossible to even begin to capture everything that Westminster - the seat of Britain's government - has to offer.

From stately Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament to the raucous Soho nightlife, from the bustle of Oxford Street, to the rolling vistas of the Royal Parks it would take weeks to describe everything to see and do in London's heartland.

It also contains some of the best shopping in London, with Covent Garden's bustling market, the boutiques of Soho and Carnaby Street, and the towering department stores around Oxford Circus.

As the shops close, London's West End comes alive, with dozens of theatres and music venues, and hundreds of bars and restaurants making sure that this is a borough that never sleeps.

Joe’s Southern Table & Bar is about all Deep South cooking and Southern hospitality, serving up soulful food from the states of Nashville, Tennessee and Kentucky.

The result is an American food offering that looks beyond the burger, all impeccably and lovingly served in an authentic, exciting and unpretentious environment.

Each of Joe’s dishes have been developed from original recipes, having added a sophisticated edge to these home cooked favourites by using high quality ingredients, careful flavour paring and imaginative presentation.

Joe’s is the only momma you need The downstairs bar Cocktail Baby plays southern American music and serves up a cocktail list full of original takes on the classics.

It pretty much guarantees to provide an American experience unlike any other bar in the capital.

The avocado burger has just landed in Covent Garden.

No, that’s not a burger with avocado included in the bun — this time the avocado is the bun.

The restaurant, which serves food from America’s Deep South and is well-known for its fried chicken, is serving the new avocado burger in three varieties.

London’s best burgers: The 10 classics you have to try There is a traditional cheeseburger with bacon, a southern fried chicken with hot mayo sauce and a vegetarian soy burger — each priced at £8.95.

The concept was originally inspired by a post from Dutch food stylist Colette Dike who uploaded a picture of a chickpea burger sandwiched in a halved avocado.

This kitchen and cocktail bar - previously Joe's Southern Kitchen, and before that, Navajo Joe - sits in the heart of Covent Garden in an enormous converted warehouse.

The bar sweeps down the length of the double-height building and boasts one of the largest collections of tequilas, mezcals and rums in London.

The food menu promises classic Southern cooking.

The bar downstairs, Cocktail Baby, offers house tunes alongside French martinis, mojitos, amaretto sours and cocktails with a Southern slant, like the smokey joe - Jim Beams Devil's Cut bourbon with tobacco liquor and barrel bitters.

Spread over two floors, this Kentish Town restaurant and bar serves up authentic southern-American cuisine, accompanied by plenty of aesthetic nods to the US, too.

Formally a police station, the basement bar features booths which were once used as cells.

Weekend brunch should help make this a good hangover destination – expect buttermilk pancakes served with seasonal berries and maple syrup, or Joe’s breakfast, where streaky bacon, sausage and eggs are served on sourdough bread.

Keep an eye out for weekend happy hours, too.
