Brumus Bar & Restaurant | Travel + Leisure

Designed in mauve, burgundy and shimmering gold hues, this fine dining favorite in the Haymarket Hotel is a study in modern luxury and secluded serenity, despite its location in the bustling West End.

Set beside the Haymarket Theatre and across the street from Her Majesty’s, Brumus is a popular spot for pre-show dinners of fresh, seasonal fare such as succulent beef bourguignon in a rich red wine sauce.

Visitors also rave about the restaurant’s divine breakfast dishes and elegant afternoon tea served in delicate Wedgwood china alongside exquisite sandwiches, crave-worthy cakes and warm scones with fresh jams and clotted cream.

Brumus Bar | Bars and pubs in Soho, London

Everything screams for attention at the Haymarket Hotel’s bright, almost brash bar, though the kaleidoscope of pink and red, patterned with geometrics on the bar stools and florals on the sofas, may not be to everyone’s taste.

The upscale class of the hotel, part of Tim and Kit Kemp’s Firmdale group, brings in a relaxed crowd.

The cocktail menu steers a course through standards and new creations: a Haymarket Cosmo (£11), for instance, adds limoncello, mint and crushed ice to the expected vodka and cranberry.

There's certainly plenty to get your teeth into at this flagship restaurant and bar at the Haymarket Hotel.

Breakfasts and brunches go through to a la carte lunches, afternoon teas, cocktails, bar bites and meals and drinks stretching late into the evening.

Theatre packages feature too - sensible, given the hotel's West End location.

The bar menu offers small plates and platters alongside a varied cocktail list combining classics with signature mixes from across bars run by the Firmdale group of hotels.

Examples include a passion and ginger caipirinha, a Lady Grey and peach margarita and the tiger's eye - a special from the Crosby Street Hotel combining Stolichnaya vodka with cinnamon, lemon juice, pear purée, champagne and star anise.
