The Crown Tavern Lee, Review

Young’s Brewery have reinvested the money from the sale of the Wandsworth brewery site into their pubs, with The Crown in the south London leafy suburb of Lee benefiting from a stylish refurbishment.
It’s a large pub, with gardens to the front and rear, a restaurant to the rear, a separate bar and function room on the 1st floor, and a large bar to the front of the ground floor.
Many of the popular pub’s original fixtures have been kept whilst the new interior gives a nod to the pub’s historical links to the original railway line in Lee that ran behind the Tavern, without over-doing the theme.
My partner opted for the Banoffee pie, which seemed to disappear in seconds.
It’s really lovely to find a pub where this still happens, so many bars have become very chic but lost that personal touch in the process.

Take a seat with us and you could be sitting in the spot where Lenin and Stalin held a meeting in 1905.
Or you may recognize our distinctive golden "Apollo Lounge" now upstairs, where scenes from the British film 'Notes on a Scandal', featuring Dame Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett, were filmed.
The Apollo Lounge - once a renowned concert hall - is spacious and bright, boasting original features and is available to hire for parties and events.
This iconic London pub is the ideal spot to enjoy a pint of specialty beer and a plate of carefully sourced, home cooked pub food.

"They call it "Nose-to-Tail Eating," and you'll be amazed at the number of obscure cuts that can crop up between those too extremes and end up on your plate."
An awesome restaurant that consistently delivers quality meals.
Dont be surprised when the woodcock if on the menu arrives on its own on a plate.
A good thing is you can BYOB.
