I reserved a table online but was disappointed on arrival when we have been reserved a booth at the front of the bar.

I asked for a table in the back, where it is quieter, but none were available.

I think it should be made clear that you can be given a table anywhere in the bar - I had specifically booked the Powder Keg, with my pregnant sister in mind, as she wanted a 'quiet' meal in a nice place.

The food did not disappoint (as I expected) however other customers standing near our booth, did proceed to leave their drinks glasses on our table while we were eating.

I would recommend giving customers the option of where they would like a table in future or make it clear that you may be given a table anywhere in the bar/restaurant.

This is an established Battersea bar that’s had a revamp: it’s been taken over by the guys behind Australian/Kiwi coffee hotspots Brickwood Cafés, WC Wine and Charcuterie, and California pizza venue Joe Public — the latter two are a bar and pizza restaurant in old public loos on Clapham Common.

Ben Mulock cooks great modern British food and we’re excited to see him in a new role, where he’s also brought in some Italian and Spanish influences.

Galician beef has had a bit of a moment in the past few years; basically it’s meat from very old cows (we eat our beef young, as standard) and so it has a lot of flavour.

There’s also a selection of British craft beers (both on draught and in the fridge), including Moor, Wiper and True, Cloudwater, Wild Beer Co and Thornbridge, plus seasonal local ales.

We feel positive about this revamp, as Mulock has form and the fact he’s ageing meat in-house and making charcuterie is exciting.
