Le Gothique, Wandsworth

Le Gothique is owned and run by it’s founder Mark Justin.

Started in 1987 the restaurant is housed within South London’s most spectacular building.

The restaurant itself is accessed via the Gothic bar.

Head chef, Jean-Marie Martin has presided over the kitchens for 16 of the 18 years the restaurant has been open while manageress Joanne Thorp and Head Waiter Emile have clocked up 15 years between them.

Le Gothique is a restaurant where you will actually be waited upon by the same members of staff as on your last visit.

Thank you for your enquiry about wedding receptions at Le Gothique.

The Gothic bar, restaurant and beautiful gardens have been host to wedding receptions large and small since April 1987.

Le Gothique even has it’s own Rolls Royce available for modest hire to whisk the bride to the venue.

We try we to see future wedding couples on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the day or evening.

Please bear in mind that there will usually be a wedding in full swing on Fridays and Saturdays and we tend to avoid viewing while someone else’s wedding is taking place.

Experienced hospitality and event management veterans Mark Justin, his son Andrew and manager Elliot Baker have joined forces to make Le Gothique one of London’s most sought-after venues for all manner of celebrations, as well as a top-spot for a la carte dining – with head chef Rafal and sous chef Marek bringing a distinct French touch to table – Sunday lunches, or casual drinks of the rare and craft ale type available at the Gothic Bar.

Inside what many regard as London’s first gastropub-type dining establishment (founded in 1987), Le Gothique’s namesake Gothic Bar is often the first port of call for those exploring this southwest London fixture, with the range of drinks available getting the nod from the Good Beer Guide year in and year out.

The mezzanine restaurant, on the other hand, can seat 100 or accommodate 150 for a standing cocktails and canapes reception.

There’s a special every day of the week on the bar menu for lunch and early evening dining, while the French cuisine-inspired restaurant menu never fails to impress.

As for wedding and event banquets, Le Gothique is happy to consult with you as to your precise needs and desires.

Le Gothique | Restaurants in Wandsworth, London

Le Gothique on Wandsworth Common is a gastropub located in an imposing Victorian building that was originally built to educate and train orphans for the military in 1859.

Now used for slightly more positive undertakings, the building houses La Gothique bar and restaurant, which takes its name from the building's style.

There’s a range of cask ales and wine on offer and a unique outdoor space set within a walled garden.

There’s an extensive bar menu, featuring classics such as chilli con carne and bangers 'n' mash.

If you’re looking for something more upmarket check out the a la carte menu on offer in the restaurant, which includes French dishes loup de mer (sea bass) and tart tatin for dessert.
