Doric Arch, Euston, London, NW1 1DN - pub details ...

This is a great pub carrying the full range of Fuller's ales and keg products plus ever changing guest ales from other Breweries.

It is the pub I usually go to watch rugby matches at the weekend.

It is a pub of two lives.

The toilets are downstairs below ground level and the pub is on the first floor.

The only ground floor public footprint is the two access points.

But these days there's more to NW1 than just the commute, and Euston has the burgers, beers, ribs and rotis to prove it.

Straightforward, cheap and cheerful, Double Six Café (66, Eversholt Street, NW1 1DA) is open from 7am on weekdays and doing food to match the old-school caff interior — fry-ups, bacon sandwiches and the classic egg-chips-beans hat-trick.

Maybe our favourite pub in Euston, The Pack & Carriage has a good wine list, brilliantly-chosen draught and bottled beers and a warm, faded wooden bar area.

Between the menus at Diwana Bhel Poori House and Ravi Shankar (133-135, Drummond Street, NW1 2HL), you could have Southern Indian vegetarian food every day for a month without repeating a dish.

The Cosy Kettle cocktail bar (60, Chalton St, NW1 1HS) is the best place for dessert and a nightcap, the combination you didn't realise you wanted, offering cake and cocktails from the basement of Somers Town Coffee House until the small hours.

This pub has been voted by our readers as one of the best in Euston.

Station pubs used to be as dreary and dismal a drinking experience as you can find in the capital.

But Euston's Doric Arch predates them both, and without all the gastro-botherings (although food is available).

It's a pretty standard Fuller's pub with a mixed clientele.

It's named after the famous Euston Arch, an imposing gateway that once stood on the site, but which was knocked down in the 60s despite the best efforts of Betjeman and co.

location

In a prime location, The Doric Arch can be found outside Euston station, a short journey from Harry Potter World and within walking distance from Madame Tussauds, Regents Park London Zoo, Camden Town, Bloomsbury and the British Library.

Named after the arch at the front of Euston station, the traditional pub is famous for its real ales and is perfect for a swift pint if you’re waiting for a train.

For those able to spend a little longer, there’s a menu crammed full of classic British pub food including succulent sausages, weekly specials and delectable desserts, to complement your chosen ale, wine or whiskey.

Adorned with railway memorabilia, The Doric Arch is a train-lover's delight.

Drop by and browse through the collection, sink into the soft seating area or chill out on the mezzanine overlooking Euston Square.
