London’s overrun with burger restaurants, surely there’s no room for any more, right?

We’d already had a menu thrust in our hands before we’d even got in the door, there’s a choice of six burgers or you can build your own, like Build-a-Bear but better.

The name of the meat is in red type on the menu before the description, but I can imagine that a few people might not notice it, we’re so conditioned to burgers being beef.

Taste wise things were great though, we appreciated the quality in the meat and difference to the average burger, the bacon and BBQ sauce in my Le Bartholomé was tangy and rich and gave it a real point of difference from other London burgers.

If I loved cheese like Ade and most normal people do, I’d be really intrigued to come back to try the other burgers, but as the various cheeses involved are such integral ingredients, it doesn’t seem right somehow.

Burger Me! A London Burger Blog: 2015

Late to the party, but fashionably so, I've just managed to try out the delights of Le Bun at Le Zetter with some burger loving work colleagues - five days before their residency ends.

I'll give you the full brief after the jump, but if you're a fan of Le Bun (or if you've never tried it) you have to get yourself a booking for their next residency.

Hero & Leander were invited to sample the burgers at Big Fernand, the latest addition to London’s ever growing burger scene, located near Goodge Street.

Diners can choose from 6 set types of burgers or simply compose your own.

When it comes to dessert Big Fernand has a delicious cremé offering in three different flavours and we opted to finish off our meal, sharing the caramel and salted popcorn option.

So if you’re looking for a quick lunch date and fancy a tasty burger then head over to Big Fernand for a treat.

The menu is simple yet delicious and the service quick that makes the whole experience great for a quick pre-event bite to eat.

Crossing the channel, the Parisian burger venture brings with it a wonderful selection of French wines, cheeses, savoir faire – and let’s not forget, hamburgés.

With meat cooked all the way from blue rare to well done – and we mean French blue rare, no kidding around here – burgers utilise beef, veal, lamb, chicken and a vegetarian option.

With a selection of various sauces and several herbs, the cheeses make some of the most exciting choices from farmhouse goat cheese, herbal Tomme de Savoie, sweet blue Fourme d’Ambert to the quintessential oozy Raclette.

And because one wasn’t enough (even with a side of perfectly seasoned spiced fries) – Le Victor enters the arena, the rose veal topped with blue Fourme d’Ambert cheese, caramelised onions, coriander and home-made sweet mayonnaise.

And to go with the concluding cheese plates, the wines, supplied by Michel Chapoutier, included the house red Marius, and the Petite Ruche 2012.
