We are situated just a two minute walk away from Bethnal Green tube and overground stations at 231 Cambridge Heath road and have been a major hub of the nightlife and social scene in East London since we opened back in 1998, becoming one of the major comedy clubs in the capital with our esteemed reputation for great laughs and good value.
Since reopening with our new venue and bar in 2013, we have expanded our horizons beyond stand-up comedy, and now also host many other nights such as variety shows, cabaret events, and all sorts of other charity events.
Many people will be familiar with the founder and owner of The Backyard, Lee Hurst, who came to fame in the 90s as a regular face on television on shows such as They Think It’s All Over.

Comedian Lee Hurst's re-established Backyard Bar in Bethnal Green showcases pro acts and the rising stars of comedy.
This London comedy club attracted 300 people for the opening show and promises big things to come.
The main event is the showcase comedy show every Thursday, featuring upcoming comedians and usually one or two special guests who are kept secret until the evening of the show.
The Backyard Comedy Club puts on bigger shows featuring a line up of award winning comedians.
It is also a host to the backyard burlesque show, backyard variety show and live music.

The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the management, venue, event participants, DesignMyNight (WFL Media Ltd) and all of their respective agents, officers, directors, owners and employers are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
Occasionally, events are cancelled or postponed by the promoter, team, performer or venue for a variety of reasons.
If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations.
Tickets are sold subject to the venue or promoter's right to alter or vary the programme due to events or circumstances beyond its control without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets.
If this ticket is re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain by anyone other than the promoter, venue management, DesignMyNight or one of their authorised sub-agents, it will become voidable and the holder may be refused entry to or ejected from the venue.
