“Beer lovers will appreciate the well kept ales… The menu is more ambitious than it needs to be with such a captive crowd of thespians and locals.

A giant gin balloon takes pride of place on our bar which will serve hand-crafted spirits, elegant cocktails, award-winning ales and a bottle of wine to match any kind of day.

The menu showcases our dedication to all things meat from our home-cured, uniquely flavoured British charcuterie, to our wide range of steaks, all aged in-house, as well as our free-range chicken and pork, and sustainably sourced fish from beautiful south coast.

The first floor of The Latchmere continues to be home to Theatre503, an Olivier award-winning theatre for over 30 years, with whom we are proud to be associated.

A landmark building on the junction of Latchmere Road and Battersea Bridge Road, The Latchmere lies in the heart of Battersea, a short distance from the river and minutes from Battersea Park.

Latchmere in Battersea, London Pub Review and Details

'Smith & Jones' pubs don't rate highly on Fancyapint?

A perfect example of how a pub's heritage can be so easily destroyed and replaced with something altogether uninteresting, the remaining original dark-stained Victorian mirrored bar only serves to make you wonder how great it used to be here.

The pub's saving grace is still the theatre upstairs - a mainstay of the comedy circuit - and the punters who tend to be a mixed crowd, reflecting Battersea's eclectic population.

On our last visit we were confronted with the fact that the pub's the home of London Media RFC and the introduction of "Great British Pub Night" - which sounds like a grand idea.

Sadly, we still hanker for something more exciting than this.

Theatre503

We are the home for new writers and a launchpad for the artists who bring their words to life.

At our heart is a desire to find extraordinary new voices, match them with brilliant people and support the journey of their idea to the stage.

The menu changes very little and, as far as Sunday roasts are concerned, the formula is identical from week to week, the food always presented in exactly the same way with the same vegetables cooked in the same way and same quantities.

Wine in pubs has moved on a lot in recent years and, as you would expect of a pub which places an emphasis on food, the wine list here is reasonable.

Atmosphere: 5/6 it was a nice family pub atmosphere, went with a friend it was very good and we felt comfortable.

Very welcoming staff, we had Sunday lunch with 3 children, the children's meal size was perfect and they loved the idea of decorating their own cupcakes.

I had the roast beef (Sunday lunch) and my friend had lamb.

ES Food Newsletter As new owner Renaissance Inns states, the Latchmere is “one of Battersea’s most beautiful buildings”.

But while the once-affordable houses nearby now cost millions, and the Latchmere sits amid swankpot interior design shops, the bog-standard Indians, Thais and chippies on this stretch of Battersea Park Road have stubbornly resisted gentrification.

Scotch eggs at the Latchmere (Picture: Matt Writtle) The beer selection is bog-standard but a pint of Wandle from local microbrewery Sambrook’s and a large Sipsmith and tonic take the edge off the day.

The bread basket has some focaccia and a couple of white crusts, both tasting old.

The Bolingbroke Pub & Dining Room is named in honour of Henry St. John, 1st Viscount Bolingbroke, the brilliant politician and reckless rake, who spent the early and final years of his life in Battersea.

Whilst Henry was renowned for his hard drinking, innumerable affairs and wild escapades, this Northcote Road public house is a rather more refined local.

We are proud to work with some of the best small producers the British Isles has to offer.

We have a good range of cask ales and lagers and are proud of our wine list which offers great wines at very reasonable prices.
